In the spirit of Haskell Wexler's
"Medium Cool," LOVE ROME shows the effects of September
11 on a cycle of relationships with NYC as a documentary backdrop.
The movie is broken into vignettes with four sets of couples
representing each cycle of a relationship: the sweet beginning,
the decision of whether to keep an unborn baby in the time of
war, the transition from one lover to the next and a breakup
moment. Each vignette is buffered by documentary footage of NYC
from September 11 through the six-month anniversary. |
